Greater Springfield
Community Engagement ZoneThousands of our members are trained annually to build upon a tradition of “hands-on” community involvement. DUO was created to share the “secrets” to our denomination’s reputation for health and long life.

DUO Springfield hosts weekly health seminars designed to improve the health of our neighbors. In partnership with a growing constellation of Community Stakeholders, we serve as a bridge to community by bringing practical, community-based solutions to residents, especially those impacted by health disparities. Our vision is to improve the quality-of-life for those living, working, and worshiping in Greater Springfield!

Seventh-day Adventists are known to be the longest living Americans, living up to 10 years longer than the general population, regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender. Many studies attribute this faith community’s longevity to Eight Health Principles most of their members live by. National Geographic and Dan Beutnner have identified five communities in the world (Blue Zones) where members of these societies outlive their counterparts. Loma Linda, California is one such community and the only BluZone in the United States. Our hope is to replicate this BluZone (https://www.bluezones.com/
